In this short clip from a 2018 interview with Joe Campolo, Managing Partner at Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, Marty Schmitt explains why Flexible IT operates from a written technology plan with every client.
The plan starts with a clear understanding of where a business is today and where it needs to be, then lays out the steps to get there. The goal is not to be paid for responding to problems. It is to put the right network in place so problems do not happen in the first place. As Marty puts it, a good day for a Flexible IT client is the day the phone is not ringing.
Technology Planning is one of the five core services Flexible IT offers under the Effortless IT umbrella, alongside IT Support, IT Advisory, Cybersecurity, and Compliance. We have supported Long Island businesses since 1984, and are headquartered at the Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge.

[Marty] We find that working off a technology plan is the best way to go. We'll come into a new situation and we'll understand where they're at now and where they need to be, and then we'll work off of what we call a technology plan to make sure that we are adhering to the steps we feel are necessary to get the client where they need to be — and to a point where they don't need a myriad of support calls and that kind of thing.
[Joe Campolo] I loved it when we were in your offices a couple of weeks ago. You said a good day is when the phones aren't ringing. I can understand that, because when your phones are ringing a lot, it means something bad is going on somewhere.
[Marty] That's exactly it. We don't feel like clients should be paying us to respond. We feel like clients should be paying us to make sure that they have the proper working network — that there is no reason to make phone calls and be in a response-oriented situation.
