In this clip from a 2018 interview with Joe Campolo, Managing Partner at Campolo, Middleton & McCormick, Marty Schmitt and Kevin Edwards talk about how Flexible IT finds and brings on talent.
The team has its own recruiters, shows up at job fairs, and maintains strong pipelines with local universities like Stony Brook and Farmingdale. Marty mentions a fresh class of summer interns being introduced around the office that very morning, getting their first look at how Flexible IT supports Long Island businesses. The pipeline runs both directions: alongside recent college grads, the company brings on seasoned IT veterans — both people coming in from competitors and people coming out of internal IT roles who want a different vision of what is possible for them.
Flexible IT has supported Long Island businesses since 1984 with managed IT, cybersecurity, compliance, and technology planning, all under the Effortless IT umbrella. We are headquartered at the Long Island Innovation Park at Hauppauge.

[Marty] We have a recruiting team, so we're out there every single day. Whenever there are job fairs and things like that, we set up our booth and we go. We have a great relationship with Stony Brook University, so a lot of the younger people coming our way are coming from Stony Brook and Farmingdale. It's just a matter of working hard every single day to make sure we're out there finding the talent that's available.
[Kevin] To add to that — today the email got sent around. We just had new interns for the summer onboarded this morning. They were walking around the office getting introductions. It starts with that, so they could see an operation like Flexible IT and how we're handling the IT needs of these businesses.
[Kevin] We're attracting these recent college grads, but we're also attracting the seasoned veterans who've been out there — whether they've been with an IT company, a competitor of ours, or in internal IT — and just wanted a different vision of what is out there for them.
Technology made effortless for Long Island businesses since 1984. See how we support our neighbors in the Innovation Park and across the Island.
