Today, Flexible IT turns 41.
It’s not a flashy milestone, but it’s a meaningful one. Because year 41 says something even more powerful than a big round number. It says consistency. It says we’re still here, still growing, and still doing the work that matters. Quietly and reliably. Day after day.
When Flexible IT was founded in 1984, most businesses didn’t even have computers on every desk. We started with wires, workstations, and the earliest versions of networked environments. Over the years, we’ve adapted to every major shift in the technology world:
Back then, there was no formal IT industry. Many early computer salesmen were converted shoe repairmen, carpenters, and general salesmen. People with no background in technology, just a willingness to learn and adapt. Flexible IT was built in that same spirit. Figure it out, make it work, and take care of the client.
Through it all, we’ve remained rooted in the same place: Long Island. And we’ve always been guided by the same goal. To make IT effortless for our clients.
We didn’t grow by running ads. We grew by earning trust, one relationship at a time.
Flexible IT started with just two people. Then three. Then five. And little by little, year by year, the team grew into what it is today.
Over the past 41 years, people have come and gone. Some stayed for a few chapters. Others built their entire lives and careers here. But every person who contributed left their mark and helped shape what Flexible has become.
We’re proud to have been a piece of so many people’s careers and stories. And everyone who has come through our doors—whether they stayed a year, a decade, or three decades—is a piece of our story too.
Ask anyone who’s seen Flexible’s culture from the inside and they’ll tell you. It’s a special place. Not just to work at, but to work with. We believe in giving people the space to grow, the tools to do great work, and the trust to solve real problems. That mindset has carried us through four decades. It’s one of the reasons clients stick with us too.
